Alan McEwen BVM&S MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Edinburgh University in 1985 and spent 7 years in mixed practices in Kent and in Holt, North Norfolk before specialising in small animals and settling down with my family in Norwich.

Our objective was to develop a practice that delivers the kind of care that we would want to receive for our own pets.

With the help of a great team of dedicated staff who I still enjoy working with, this very much remains at the heart of what we do.

We have two grown up children and a lovely Shepherd cross called Sonny, who keeps us on our toes because she is so sociable.

Outside work I have enjoyed supporting a charity, Trees for Life, who run an inspirational reforestation scheme in the Highlands of Scotland to restore areas of the ancient Caledonian Forest.

Over the years I have participated in half a dozen volunteer work weeks with them, dragging both my kids up with me before they each started university.

Since stepping back from the management responsibilities of running the practice, I have had more time to rediscover the pleasure and joy of exercise and sport once again.
